What is Slack?
Slack is an all-in-one messaging platform, which combines and consolidates the functions of private messaging, text messaging, and email listservs into one digital space, accessible from your computer, phone, or other devices. Messages can be sent either through group channels or as direct messages to other individuals on the team. Slack allows students to talk directly to each other about specific topics, ask questions, and share resources.
Divest Ed has chosen to communicate within the Power Shift Network Slack, which has 2,000+ users ranging from high school students to college students to community organizers. By doing this, student divestment organizers can easily connect to other climate, youth, or social justice fights, such as pipeline resistance and energy democracy.
